The Blue Heron Team was established to provide practical land stewardship services in the Texas Hill Country.
Our mission is to help people love their land.
Our vision is to offer informed land stewardship guidance that will connect people more deeply to their land. We accomplish this by balancing a respect for natural resources and living things with each land owner’s wishes and needs.
We believe in a hard day’s work, honesty, and sound land management advice appropriate to the Texas Hill Country ecosystem.
The simplest definition of an ecosystem is a community or group of living organisms that live in and interact with each other in a specific environment. We strive to understand this unique ecosystem and provide a suite of land stewardship services through the diverse network of resources and consultants we have developed over our combined forty years of serving the people and land of the Texas Hill Country.
Our objective is to promote good land planning, scenic restoration, and environmentally sound management practices tailored to each land owner’s ecosystem.
Our services include, but are not limited to:
- management planning and implementation,
- vegetation restoration planning and implementation,
- wildlife management planning and implementation,
- providing prospective land owners with guidance and on-site consultation of land prior to purchase addressing the purchase cost-to-value and evaluation of the existing natural resources,
- identifying and training ranch manager candidates,
- ranch and property operations start-up and oversight, and
- operations and equipment recommendations.
The Blue Heron Team provides curated design, detailed implementation, and science-based assessments of the effects of that implementation.
